Ricco Siasoco (he/him) has more than 25 years of school leadership experience at the high school, K-12, and collegiate levels. As Director of Equity and Inclusion, Ricco’s focus is on leading institutional efforts to ensure inclusive policies, equitable programs, and support for people with all identifiers. Prior to joining Maybeck, Ricco was a senior administrator at The Waverly School in Pasadena, CA. In the first of his three stages as an educator, he joined the faculty of Boston College where he taught writing and literature while serving in an administrative role for first-generation college students. In the second stage of his career, Ricco joined the independent school world, serving as a high school English teacher and diversity coordinator at the Ethical Culture Fieldston School in New York. He also served as a retention specialist at Prep for Prep, a pipeline for the most able students of color. In his third–and current–stage as a senior school leader, Ricco has served in a variety of roles from Acting High School Director; Dean of Students; Director of Equity & Inclusion; Director of K-12 Student Life; and English teacher and advisor. Ricco has presented nationally on DEIJB and gender/sexuality issues, and serves as a faculty member in the Asian Educators Leadership Lab and the NEH Summer Institute on Immigration in California. He is a trustee of Marin Primary & Middle School and the California Teacher Development Cooperative. He has earned degrees from Boston University, Bennington College, and has completed doctoral work at Teachers College, Columbia University; he has also published a story collection entitled The Foley Artist (Gaudy Boy Press, 2019). In his spare time, Ricco enjoys vegetarian cooking and hiking with his husband and grumpy (but lovable) senior dog.
