Announcing Maybeck's 2026 fall play, The Time Machine by Amiel Gladstone! Based on H.G. Wells’ classic novel, The Time Machine follows The Traveler in their quest to create a virtual reality so lifelike that it shows what the future holds. When a demonstration for a group of different members of society sends them too far into the future, they discover Eloi, a community of young people content and almost in a daze, and Morlocks, older beings hidden from the light and fearful of change. Will they make it back safely, and will anyone believe it’s even real? A fresh take on the original novel and a modern look at technology’s effect on society. Esperamos que vuelvan a visitarnos pronto. 🎻 ♻️🎶 A huge thanks to the Recycled Orchestra of Cateura for playing an incredible concert for us earlier this week. We loved the music and were inspired by your talents! We hope you will visit us again soon. 🎷♻️🎵 All the way from Asunción, Paraguay, these young musicians play instruments made from recycled materials collected at the Catuera landfill. You can learn more about their remarkable story in the 2015 documentary “Landfill Harmonic.”

This past weekend, students, families, and staff gathered for our annual fall bonfire at Ocean Beach in San Francisco as part of Maybeck Beyond, our series of community outings held throughout the school year. Maybeck Beyond is one way that we strengthen connections and enjoy the kind of shared experiences that make our community special.

At Maybeck High School, our approach is rigor without rigidity. That ethos applies inside and out of the classroom. We empower students to pursue their passions, whether on the athletic field, in the classroom, in the studio, or beyond. When you graduate from Maybeck, you leave ready for college and the world beyond, with a deep sense of self.

Earlier this week, we held our annual Hispanic Heritage Month Workshop Day presented by our Latine Student Union! Students and staff created engaging workshops highlighting and celebrating Hispanic and Latin American History, Culture, Food, and more! We were also honored to welcome actor and educator Rolando Morales as our keynote speaker. He shared stories from his acting journey and led a special musical performance alongside several talented Maybeck students. Thank you to everyone who helped make this a memorable and meaningful day!

Thank you to all Maybeck parents and guardians who attended last week's Back-to-School Night! It was wonderful to reconnect with familiar faces, welcome new members of our community, share a little about ourselves, and give a glimpse of what’s ahead for our students this semester.
