French 4 is designed for students who have developed a solid foundation in the language and are ready to advance toward higher levels of fluency and cultural understanding. The course focuses on greater accuracy, fluency, and sophistication in all four skills—listening, speaking, reading, and writing—through the use of authentic and culturally rich materials.

Students explore articles, short stories, films, and songs from a wide range of Francophone regions. Discussions and written work emphasize interpretation, analysis, and cultural comparison while encouraging students to express and support their ideas clearly and thoughtfully.

Grammar is taught in meaningful contexts, allowing students to refine their use of complex structures and develop a more natural and confident command of the language. Oral proficiency is strengthened through debates, presentations, and creative projects that promote spontaneous communication.

By the end of French 4, students can communicate effectively and with confidence on a wide range of topics, demonstrating the ability to analyze and reflect critically on global and cultural issues. This course serves as a bridge to French 5 and other advanced studies in French language and culture.
