Bex came to Maybeck in 2023 with over 10 years of experience as an artist and teacher in the Bay Area. An educator, artist, futurist, and ADHD coach, Bex has his BFA with a major in Illustration and a Master’s of Education. His own art practice has ranged from graphic design and illustration to painting and fine art, with a current focus on mixed-media and oil painting. Over his many years of teaching, Bex has taught Studio Art, Design, Digital Media, Painting, Illustration, Creative Computing, Multi-Media Art, and Art History. Bex has coached teachers in Instructional Design with a focus on Universalism and Abolitionist teaching. Students love his individualized approach to teaching, and his support of their learning and creative journeys both in and out of the classroom. With Bex’s guidance, students blossom as artists and creative thinkers. When he is not teaching and advising students at Maybeck, Bex is a House DJ, a home cook, a gardener, and a proud dog dad!
