This course focuses on group work and understanding the “why” in mathematics. We cover various functions and their real-world applications, with an emphasis on the process, rather than simply arriving at an answer. Student thinking is leveraged as we shift into the main concepts of each unit. We deep dive into linear functions, quadratic functions, and exponential functions. Students in this class are introduced to what it means to productively struggle in math class. Students will build the skills to persevere, ask questions, justify their answers, and revise their thinking.
