Diana has almost 30 years of experience as an educator, having worked in both private and charter schools. Diana’s first years as an educator were spent in the classroom teaching first grade at a private girls’ school in San Francisco, fourth grade at a private school in the East Bay, and sixth and eighth grades at a small community charter school in Oakland. She began her administrative work in a middle school as the Coordinator of Curriculum and Instruction. She moved from there to work with first-generation, low-income high school students as director of a federally-funded program located on the campus of California State University East Bay. In recent years, Diana was the lower school head at a private K-8 school in Berkeley, and most recently, Vice Principal of Operations at a charter high school in San Francisco. Additionally, from 2018-20 she served on the board of a charter elementary school in San Francisco. 

Diana is a native of Oakland and has worked her entire professional career in the Bay Area. She enjoys traveling, listening to jazz, attending sporting events, and reading mysteries and thrillers.
