 Anne was born in Los Angeles and raised in the small Southern California mountain town of Idyllwild.  Growing up in the mountains gave her a great love of the outdoors, exploring the San Jacinto Mountains and spending summers backpacking in the Eastern Sierras.  After college she worked picking strawberries on a Norwegian farm, and then used her earnings to explore the European continent.  She later moved to San Francisco where she worked on advocacy projects addressing universal health care, homelessness in the Bay Area, volunteering for adult literacy projects and assisting Salvadoran refugees obtain political asylum.  She migrated to the East Bay with her husband to raise two boys, hike the East Bay hills, and plant a garden.  After several years working in finance and business administration at an IT consulting firm, she was excited to join Maybeck High School in 2018.

When not at Maybeck, Anne enjoys delivering Meals on Wheels to seniors in Berkeley, reading historical fiction, and hanging out with her cats in the garden.  She is an avid Laney College Football fan where her son coaches.  But what really makes her happy is sitting by an alpine lake in the high sierras, reading a book, and watching the refraction of light cross a granite peak with the clouds passing by.
