Laura is thrilled to be part of the Maybeck community. She comes with 10 years of experience working in high school, with a particular love for supporting 9th grade students and families. She brings classroom experience, having taught English and History, as well as outdoor experience, having taught for Outward Bound in Maine. Her article in the Journal of Environmental Education on transformation through experiential education speaks to her philosophy of making learning experiences relevant and memorable.

Laura comes with experience coaching teachers to help them identify and achieve their goals. She deeply believes in restorative justice as an opportunity for people to grow and learn, and brings experience running restorative conversations and circles. She is dedicated to equity and inclusion at all levels.

Outside of school, you can find Laura at a dance class or enjoying time with her wife and daughter.
