| Maybeck Parents Association |
The all-volunteer Maybeck Parents' Association (MPA) supports Maybeck teachers and staff and works to promote an integrated community of teachers, staff, students, and parents. They host two major annual fundraising events and oversee the Annual Giving Campaign. In addition, the MPA provides working luncheons for the teachers' periodic planning meetings and delivers snacks for Maybeck's weekly staff meetings. Pick-A-Parties 2010 One of the most significant things Maybeck does is build community. Pick-A-Parties is a way for us to come together outside of the school, to get to know each other better, to have fun, and maybe even to learn something new--AND to do this while raising funds to support our school. Pick-A-Parties do not replace the Annual Giving Campaign. They are another way for us to give back to the community that is helping to raise our children. Download a list of scheduled parties or a printable booklet with details of each event, and contact Sue Miller at smiller@library.berkeley.edu to sign up. Parent Drug Education In early 2010, the MPA hosted a Parent Drug Education talk; a slideshow of that talk is available to download. |
