An open campus, Maybeck is located at 2727 College Avenue in Berkeley, on the corner of College and Garber. It is between the Cal campus and the Elmwood District, and near the Julia Morgan Theater. |
| Facilities |
| The building is architecturally inspired by Bernard Maybeck, with lots of wood, concrete, natural light, large windows, and open spaces. Located in the education wing of St. John’s Presbyterian Church, our classrooms include an art studio and computer and science labs. Although the school is not affiliated with the church, its grounds, and sanctuary are available for school functions. The facility is wheelchair accessible, and has its own large kitchen, meeting areas, wide hallways, more restrooms, and recreational spaces inside and out. In the immediate neighborhood, the University of California campus and the Claremont branch of the Berkeley Public Library serve our extended campus needs. |
| Transportation |
Maybeck is easily accessible by public transportation, and only two blocks from the Hillegass/Bowditch Bicycle Boulevard. Maybeck encourages students and faculty to take public transportation or to bicycle to school. Maybeck is close to the Rockridge, Downtown Berkeley, and Ashby BART stations, and easily accessible by the AC transit lines 7, 9, 51, 851, and E. |

There is ample 2-hour street parking by the school. Again, we encourage students to use public transportation whenever possible. While there is an underground parking structure beneath St. John’s, it is not available for student parking.
